Dr. Platt lives in Mexico where he is the Director for the Masters in Counseling Psychology program at Alliant International University’s Mexico City campus. With Alliant’s California School of Psychology, he is Director of Latin American Immersion Programs, the Certificate in Latin American Family Therapy program, and the MFT Mexico Satellite program. Dr. Platt runs an annual five-week Cultural and Spanish language Immersion Program in Mexico City. The emphasis of his work is influenced by the ideas of Paulo Freire’s dialogical approach and the tenets of liberation psychology as described by Ignacio Martin Baró. He is interested in the role these theories can have in immersion education and in efforts to better address the mental health needs of international communities.

The greatest evil is the lack of love and charity, the terrible indifference towards one's neighbor who lives at the roadside assaulted by exploitation, corruption, poverty and disease. -Blessed Mother Teresa
