Scott R. Woolley, PhD

Certified Emotionally Focused Therapist, Supervisor, and Trainer. Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, AAMFT Clinical Member and AAMFT Approved Supervisor. Founder and Director of the San Diego Center for Emotionally Focused Therapy. Faculty and administrator at CSPP of Alliant International University. Dr. Woolley has trained therapists in EFT worldwide, including Canada, Chile, Finland, Guam, Hong Kong, Japan, Mexico, Taiwan, and throughout the U.S.


Rebecca Jorgensen, PhD

Certified Emotionally Focused Therapist, Supervisor and Trainer. Founder and Director of San Diego Center for Emotionally Focused Therapy and lead investigator for research on EFT Couples Group Therapy. Adjunct faculty at San Diego State University and Alliant International University. Dr. Jorgensen has trained therapists in EFT throughout North America. 


Dorothy Becvar, PhD

Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Marital and Family Therapist. Over 25 years experience in academia and private practice. Faculty member Saint Louis University, School of Social Work. Dr. Becvar’s many publications include Soul Healing: A Spiritual Orientation in Counseling and Therapy (Basic Books, 1997) The Family, Spirituality and Social Work (Haworth, 1997). Dr. Becvar will lead several sessions on Spirituality in Therapy during the week in Costa Rica.

Additionally, you will be invited to participate in optional Freirean activities incorporating local culture and ideas on mental health.
